Pediatric Occupational Therapy and Hand Rehabilitation

My journey

I graduated in Occupational Therapy in October 2025 from the University of Pavia. During my university studies, I completed internships in the neurological and geriatric fields, gradually developing a strong interest in rehabilitation and in helping people regain autonomy in their daily activities.

A particularly meaningful experience was in the field of upper-limb rehabilitation, with a specific focus on the hand. This path directed my interest toward working with people affected by chronic conditions or the consequences of trauma, which can impact their ability to carry out daily activities, instrumental activities, and personal interests.

After graduating, I chose to continue in this direction and I currently work with people affected by chronic hand conditions, rheumatic diseases, tendinitis, bone fractures, nerve injuries, and sprains.

At the beginning of my professional career, I also worked alongside a colleague specialized in the rehabilitation of children with DSA, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders. This experience sparked a strong interest in me and encouraged me to further explore this area, which has now become another field in which I work.

Relationship and therapeutic approach

In my work, my goal is to help each person maintain the highest possible level of autonomy by strengthening the areas in which they experience the greatest difficulties. I work to help each individual feel freer in carrying out daily activities and continue dedicating themselves to what gives them pleasure and satisfaction, without having to give it up.

I also consider the quality of the therapeutic relationship and the bond of trust built with the patient to be fundamental. I believe that a therapeutic path based on listening, collaboration, and respect for the person can be not only more effective, but also calmer and more positive.

When working with children, I also consider it essential to create a welcoming environment and a positive relationship, allowing them to feel understood, valued, and at ease. I believe that, through an approach that is attentive to individual needs, it is possible to support them in strengthening their abilities and achieving greater autonomy in everyday life.

Continuing education

I strongly believe in continuing education as a fundamental tool for expanding my professional skills and offering increasingly targeted and qualified support. I am currently attending specific courses in the fields of hand rehabilitation and pediatrics, with the aim of further deepening my knowledge and integrating new skills into my clinical practice. I am also completing training in Sensory Integration, which allows me to enrich my therapeutic approach when working with children.
