Pilates Instructor

Alessia Gasparini

I graduated in 2017 in Biological Sciences and Technologies with top marks at the University of Insubria. At the same time, I pursued my passion for dance and, in the same year, I became a member of the academy We Dance Azzate, in the province of Varese.

I started studying dance as a child, first classical and later modern and contemporary, attending workshops and training courses with internationally renowned teachers. I followed an academic path at ASD Time for Dance, where I had the opportunity to perform in shows and competitions, interpreting choreographies from the classical repertoire.

From a young age, I developed an interest in teaching. At eighteen, I began leading dance classes for children and teenagers in various schools in the province of Varese. I discovered pilates during my career as a dancer, and in particular, the Pilates Reformer helped me recover from injuries and build strong, elongated, and harmonious muscles.

In pilates, I found the key to combining my background in dance with my passion for the harmonious and fluid movement that characterizes the method.

Why I chose to teach pilates

After many years spent between ballet shoes and tutus, first as a student and then as a teacher, I felt the need to explore a new form of movement, one that is not far from dance but I believe is complementary and, in some ways, more accessible to everyone.

Pilates is for every category of people: athletes, young people, seniors, and expectant mothers. Thanks to its versatility, it can be adapted and practiced in different forms, depending on individual needs and goals. It is a postural exercise method: it helps both to tone and lengthen the muscles, correct asymmetries or imbalances, improve balance, and enhance body awareness. When practiced with correct breathing and concentration, it also helps to release tension.

What teaching means to me

I believe teaching is one of the greatest forms of love. In every lesson, I try to pass on to others what I have learned over the years through my studies in dance, made up of technique and discipline but also of great passion and dedication.

For me, it is essential to create a relationship of trust with each student, making them feel welcomed and listened to, in order to guide them toward greater awareness of their body and the achievement of their physical and mental well-being.
