Occupational therapist

Debora Michelini

I graduated in Occupational Therapy in 2016 at the University of Milan.

In 2017, I attended the Advanced Training Course โ€œNursery Model โ€“ Occupational Therapy and Psychoanalysisโ€ at Il Vivaio โ€“ Center for Developmental Psychology. From 2020 to 2023, I completed my training in Analytic Psychodrama.

Every year, I take part in study and training days dedicated to the Nursery Model (MOVI) of Occupational Therapy, which represents an important point of reference in my professional path.

I have gained experience working with adults affected by neurological, neurodegenerative, and oncological conditions, as well as with elderly patients experiencing cognitive decline. I have worked in specialist rehabilitation centers, community outpatient clinics, and in home settings, developing versatile and flexible skills in different therapeutic contexts.

I love my work for the holistic vision of well-being that occupational therapy promotes. I have developed a particular interest in the Nursery Model, for the central role of emotions and relationships that emerge and grow through โ€œdoingโ€ in the therapeutic context. Through my professional experience, I have seen the effectiveness of the MOVI approach, as it becomes essential to consider clientsโ€™ choices and emotions, as well as to listen to oneโ€™s own feelings as a therapist, in order to build a truly meaningful therapeutic path.

I also chose to expand my professional training by working with children and in the field of mental health, because I strongly believe that the relational approach of the Nursery Model, applied to childrenโ€™s play, represents a fundamental basis for development and is a cornerstone of a personโ€™s psychophysical well-being.
