Occupational Therapy and Assistive Devices: Personalized Rehabilitation for Daily Independence
I graduated in Occupational Therapy in 2019 from the University of Milan. After graduation, I had the opportunity to gain professional experience in different contexts in Italy, working on cognitive and motor rehabilitation in both clinical and home-care settings.
Over time, I enriched my training with specialized courses on:
- Hand rehabilitation
- Treatment of degenerative neuromuscular disorders
- Treatment of acquired spinal cord injuries
- Use and customization of assistive devices
- Custom-made splints in thermoplastic material
I also deepened my expertise in adapting living environments for people with motor disabilities, with a focus on aids for mobility and communicationโtools that are often underestimated but essential to improving quality of life and participation.
Who I work with
I currently work both at home and in the clinic, mainly supporting:
- Geriatric patients with cognitive decline
- Neurological patients
- People with hand function impairments
Each intervention is highly personalized and takes into account not only the condition but also the living context, habits, and individual goals of the person.
The environment makes the difference
I am deeply convinced that the environment in which we live has a decisive influence on our level of independence. The right aid, introduced at the right time, can truly make a difference: it can reduce dependence on others, counteract social isolation, prevent the abandonment of meaningful activities, and lighten the caregiving burden.
My goal? Independence
Every treatment has the ultimate goal of maintaining, restoring, and expanding the patientโs independence. Whether it is small daily actions or more ambitious goals, my role is to guide the person on a path of growth, self-determination, and well-being.
